Apple still says "China"!

Although recent reports suggest Apple is shifting its production base to India, the reality doesn't seem that way.

Apple still says "China"!

Rumors have circulated that Apple's relationship with China is waning, hinting at a shift of the tech giant's production to other countries. However, recent developments suggest otherwise. In a surprising twist, the bond between Apple and the Asian powerhouse seems to be stronger than ever. This affirmation became even more evident after Apple's CEO, Tim Cook, met with China’s IT Minister. The latest insights reveal that China remains responsible for manufacturing over 95% of Apple's products.

Continuing his visit in China, Tim Cook took the opportunity to tour the Foxconn plant. It was here that he emphasized China's significant role, stating that above 95% of Apple's products come to life in the country. Considering Apple's stature as one of the world's top tech giants with a diversified range in products such as smartphones, computers, tablets, and smartwatches, this reveals the depth of their commitment to China.

However, it's worth noting that Apple has been contemplating diversifying its production centers. The idea was primarily sparked by the challenges faced during the pandemic. India emerged as a strong contender for this expansion, with ambitions of becoming the global hub for iPhone production. Yet, it appears that these plans remain nascent, with a considerable shift from China not expected anytime soon. Emphasizing collaboration, Cook mentioned in an interview that Apple aims to foster a “win-win” relationship with its supply chain partners.

In a similar vein, Foxconn's Chairman, Wang Laichun, shared some intriguing details in a recent interview. She unveiled that Foxconn had been tasked with producing three iPhone 15 models this year, marking a business growth of double compared to the previous year. Moreover, preparations are underway for the production of Apple's forthcoming VR headset, named Apple Vision Pro.

In conclusion, Apple is keen on deepening its roots in China, aiming for a harmonious relationship with its Chinese partners, both benefiting from shared success.
