In the competitive smartphone market, many top brands have shifted their focus to produce "flagship-killer" smartphones. These devices, as the name suggests, offer users a premium experience without the high-end price tag. While they do exhibit certain compromises, these are minor and don't significantly affect the overall user experience.

Xiaomi, a brand renowned for its innovative approach, began its journey by introducing smartphones that gave flagship devices a run for their money. Their early Mi 1 was testament to this. However, as the brand evolved, its primary Xiaomi series transitioned into a full-fledged flagship range, directly challenging industry giants like iPhones and the Galaxy S series. Recognizing the need to continue serving the flagship-killer segment, Xiaomi introduced the T series in 2019, with new additions to this line launching in the latter half of each year.

Recently, Xiaomi unveiled its latest in the series, the 13T, available in both standard and pro models, priced at €649 and €799, respectively. At these price points, Xiaomi ensures that customers get a taste of features that were once exclusive to the high-end flagships. The differentiation of the Xiaomi 13T and 13T Pro from other comparable phones in the market is indeed noteworthy.

One of the standout features in the 13T Pro is the Leica camera. Several top-tier smartphones nowadays collaborate with renowned camera brands for superior imaging solutions, and Xiaomi has partnered with Leica for this very purpose. They have incorporated Leica's expertise into their flagships and foldable phones for some time now. The 13T series marks Xiaomi's first foray into integrating Leica technology into their flagship-killer range.

Both the 13T and 13T Pro models are equipped with the same camera hardware, benefiting from Leica's tuning. However, a notable difference lies in their Image Signal Processors (ISPs) because the base model is driven by a Dimensity 8200-Ultra chip, while the Pro is powered by the more advanced Dimensity 9200 plus chipset. These phones come with a comprehensive three-lens system, including a 24mm primary lens, a 15mm ultrawide lens, and a 50mm 2x telephoto lens. The primary and zoom cameras employ 50MP sensors with an f/1.9 aperture. The ultrawide shooter utilizes a 12MP sensor with an f/2.2 aperture, while the front-facing camera boasts a 20MP sensor with an f/2.2 lens.
