Excitement builds as Samsung Galaxy S24 series launch date is announced

The anticipation is building for the Samsung Galaxy S24 series, with official announcements of launch, pre-order, and sale dates.

Samsung's upcoming Galaxy S24 series, which includes the S24, S24+, and S24 Ultra, is set to debut globally on January 17, 2024. This information, not yet officially confirmed by Samsung, comes from an unnamed source within the company as reported by The Elec.

The launch date marks the beginning of the pre-order period for these advanced smartphones. Customers who place their orders promptly can expect to receive their devices between January 26 and 30. The general sale for the Galaxy S24 series is scheduled to start on January 30.

The Galaxy S24 and S24+ are expected to feature a Dynamic AMOLED 2x LTPO panel with a 120Hz refresh rate. Internally, these models will be equipped with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC and Exynos 2400 SoC in selected markets. They will offer up to 12GB of RAM and 512GB of storage, running on OneUI 6 based on Android 14.

For photography, these devices will include a 50 MP primary lens, a 12MP ultra-wide-angle lens, and a 10MP telephoto lens with 3x optical zoom. The front camera will have a 12MP sensor. The battery capacity is set at 4,700mAh for the Galaxy S23 and 4,900mAh for the Galaxy S23+, both supporting 45W wired and wireless charging.

The Galaxy S24 Ultra, meanwhile, is slated to showcase a Dynamic AMOLED 2x LTPO panel with a 144Hz refresh rate. It will house a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor and offer up to 16GB RAM and 2TB storage. Running Android 14-based OneUI 6, it will feature a 5,000mAh battery compatible with 45W wired and wireless charging. The camera setup will be more advanced with a 200 MP primary lens, a 12MP ultra-wide-angle lens, a 50MP periscope lens with 5x optical zoom, and a 10MP telephoto lens with 3x optical zoom. The front camera will be equipped with a 12MP sensor.

In addition, the S24 Ultra is expected to include a Titanium Frame and offer IP68 water and dust resistance.
