In the rapidly evolving smartphone landscape, the integration of a periscope telephoto camera is becoming a signature feature for flagship devices. Among the phones vying for this distinction, iQOO 12 Pro is rumored to lead the pack with such an addition. A leak from a trusted source suggests that iQOO has been experimenting with the OmniVision OV64B, a 64-megapixel periscope zoom camera. While specifics are not confirmed, it's hinted that this feature might be seen in the upcoming iQOO 12 Pro.

The camera configuration of the iQOO 12 Pro is expected to be a combination of the aforementioned OV64B periscope zoom camera and an OV50H 50-megapixel primary camera. Building upon its predecessor's strengths, the new model might also incorporate the ultra-wide lens from the iQOO 11 Pro, which stands out with its 50-megapixel capacity, autofocus, and an expansive 150-degree field of view.

Vivo's new imaging chip, the Vivo V3, is set to debut in the Vivo X100 Pro and X100 Pro+ later this year. There's a possibility that iQOO, being a Vivo sub-brand, might also harness the power of the V3 chip for its 12 Pro model.

Diving deeper into its specs, the iQOO 12 Pro is likely to be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chip, expected to be unveiled in October. The top-tier variant might boast a colossal 24 GB of LPDDR5x RAM along with 1 TB of UFS 4.0 storage. Other features to look forward to include a 6.78-inch curved-edge AMOLED display with Quad HD+ resolution and a 144Hz refresh rate. The charging capabilities are equally impressive, with rumors pointing to 200W fast charging and 50W wireless charging options. Lastly, the device is expected to operate on Android 14 paired with OriginOS 4.0.
