Anticipation is building among tech enthusiasts as Xiaomi has revealed the launch date for its much-awaited Xiaomi 14 series phones. The grand reveal is set for Thursday, October 26 at 7 PM, Beijing time. The spotlight on this series is particularly bright, given that it's anticipated to be driven by the latest Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor.

Another significant highlight for the upcoming Xiaomi 14 series is the incorporation of Leica Summilux lenses. This marks a first for Xiaomi, which had previously opted for Leica Summicron lenses in their flagship smartphones, notably in the Xiaomi 12/13 series and the Xiaomi 12S Ultra concept phone.

Whispers in the tech corridors indicate that two models will grace the Xiaomi 14 series: the standard Xiaomi 14 and a more advanced Xiaomi 14 Pro. Recent renders offer glimpses of the Pro model's design, which interestingly departs from its predecessor's curved-edge design and instead flaunts a flat display. Additionally, it sports a quad-camera setup, a step up from the triple-camera found in the Xiaomi 13 Pro.

Performance enthusiasts might also find it intriguing that the Xiaomi 14 recently surfaced on Geekbench. It boasts an impressive 16GB of RAM and managed to score 2244 points on the single-core test, while racking up 6820 points on the multi-core test.

But that's not all. Xiaomi's event will also introduce the world to its brand-new operating system: HyperOS. This is expected to be the successor to MIUI, which has been the company's default operating system for its smartphones. The tech community eagerly awaits further details on both the Xiaomi 14 series and the HyperOS.
