Motorola Moto X40 is now official.

Motorola has launched Moto X40 today. The new smartphone is equipped with heavy upgrades, as compared to previous Moto X30 series. The Moto X40 directly competes with Xiaomi 13, Vivo X90 and iPhone 14. Let's check all the details of the new great competitor at the smartphone arena.

Moto X40 specifications, optics and more

Motorola Moto X40 has a 6.7-inch AMOLED screen with a 165Hz refresh rate and a resolution of FHD+. The camera cutout is center-aligned and has curved edges. HDR support, 10-bit color, and an integrated fingerprint scanner are all available on the display. The Moto X40's camera module is small and rectangular. It has dust and water resistance tested to IP68. It has Dolby Atmos-tuned stereo speakers.

The Moto X40 has three rear cameras for image capture. A 50-megapixel main sensor with OIS support, a 50-megapixel ultrawide-angle lens, and a 12-megapixel telephoto unit make up the optic system. A 60-megapixel front-facing selfie camera is present. The smartphone can record 4K HDR videos, and you can lock the screen horizontally when clicking action scenes.

Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset powers the Moto X40. It has up to 512GB of UFS 4.0 storage and up to 16GB of LPDDR5x RAM. A liquid cooling system with three dimensions is included in the device. The smartphone has a 4,600mAh battery that can handle 125W of wired charging and 15W of wireless charging. The device's software is based on Android 13 with MY UI 5.

Moto X40 price and availability

Smoky Black and Tourmarine Blue are two colors that are available for the Moto X40. The smartphone costs $487, for the base model with 8GB and 128GB of storage.

Prices for the 8GB + 256GB and 12GB + 256GB models are about $530 and $573, respectively. The more expensive 12GB + 512GB configuration costs $617. The Moto X40 is currently available in only China. It is expected to reach US or other markets with rebranded name.
