In the recent days, Nokia has been hinting at the introduction of a new 5G smartphone for the Indian audience. The speculations have been rife, with many suggesting it might be the Nokia G42. The company has now confirmed that it will be unveiling the Nokia G42 on September 11th in India.
Though the Nokia G42 5G is making its debut in India, it's not entirely new to the global market, as it had already been launched in Europe. Following the introduction of the Nokia X30 5G earlier this year, the G42 is set to become the brand's second 5G phone to be introduced in India.
Nokia G42 5G's release date is now known
The Nokia G42 5G boasts a 6.56-inch waterdrop notch display with HD+ resolution and a 90Hz refresh rate. Audio enthusiasts can expect enhanced sound, thanks to the OZO Playback-powered loudspeaker integrated into the device. For photography, it offers an 8-megapixel front camera and a 50-megapixel primary rear camera. The main camera is supplemented by both a macro camera and a depth sensor. Performance-wise, the device is driven by the Snapdragon 480 Plus chipset and offers up to 11 GB of RAM, including virtual RAM.
Consistent with Nokia's commitment to user experience, the G42 5G will receive two years of Android OS updates and three years of security patches. When it comes to aesthetics, potential buyers can choose between the Purple and So Grey color options. Even though the Amazon listing doesn't mention it, it's understood that the phone will come with 128 GB of internal storage and a 5,000mAh battery with 20W wired charging capabilities. Security is also a priority, as evidenced by the inclusion of a side-mounted fingerprint scanner. As of now, the pricing remains undisclosed.
