The OnePlus 12 is poised to be the latest addition to the OnePlus flagship lineup, succeeding the OnePlus 11. With its launch scheduled for December 5 in China, this smartphone is already creating a buzz in the tech community. Let's delve into what the OnePlus 12 has in store for us.

OnePlus has maintained a classic approach in the design of the OnePlus 12, keeping significant changes at bay. The phone continues with its distinctive quad-cutout circular camera module, now enhanced with intricate internal detailing. The design draws inspiration from classic timepieces, as evident in the grooves around the camera module that mimic minute lines on a clock. The device features the power button and volume rockers on the left, with an additional power button and an alert slider on the right.

The OnePlus 12 will be available in three colors – Blank (white), Green, and Rock Black – as revealed in official teasers. There's also speculation about a wood texture back variant, reminiscent of the original OnePlus One Walnut Wood Edition.

The display is a standout feature, with a large 6.82-inch BOE AMOLED screen. It boasts a resolution of 3168 x 1440 pixels and a 120Hz refresh rate for smooth visuals. The 2K+ display curves at the edges and includes advanced technologies like 2160Hz PWM dimming and a high pixel density of 510. Additionally, the phone will feature an improved in-screen fingerprint scanner and OnePlus’s Rain Water Touch feature to prevent ghost and false touches.

Under the hood, the OnePlus 12 is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chip, boasting improved performance with a peak clock speed of 3.3GHz and a new Adreno 750 GPU for enhanced graphics. The phone has recorded an AnTuTu benchmark score of 2,333,033 points. To support this high performance, it includes a 9140mm² vapor chamber cooling system covering a total area of 38,547mm².

The OnePlus 12 will offer various LPDDR5x RAM and UFS 4.0 storage configurations, including a top-tier 24GB + 1TB model. The battery capacity is increased to 5,400mAh, supported by 100W wired and 50W wireless charging as per 3C certification. The phone also features a new “Bionic Vibration Motor Turbo” for enhanced tactile feedback. Software-wise, it will launch with Android 14-based ColorOS 14 (OxygenOS 14 globally).
