Chinese tech company Oppo has released its new budget-friendly smartphone model, the A2m.

Oppo recently introduced its budget-friendly smartphone, the Oppo A2m, to the Chinese market. Initial information about this device began circulating as early as September. Fast forward to last week, and its complete specifications were disclosed on the China Telecom website. Now, the device is not only official but also available for purchase.

The Oppo A2m boasts a contemporary frame design with its volume buttons located on the left and the power key on the right. The textured back gives the phone a modern and upscale appearance. Contrasting this, the front sports a dewdrop-notched display surrounded by pronounced bezels. This display, spanning 6.56 inches, is an LCD panel with a resolution of 1612 x 720 pixels, 269 PPI, and supports a 90Hz refresh rate. Remarkably, the screen can achieve a peak brightness of up to 720 nits.

Under the hood, the A2m runs on a MediaTek Dimensity 6020 processor, complemented by LPDDR4x RAM and UFS 2.2 storage. As for its software, the smartphone operates on ColorOS 13.1, which is based on Android 13. The camera setup is fairly simple with a 13MP primary camera on the back and a 5MP front-facing camera. Other notable features include a side-mounted fingerprint sensor, a slot for a MicroSD card, a 3.5mm headphone jack, and a single speaker capable of delivering over 85 decibels. In terms of durability, it has an IP54 rating, indicating a decent level of splash resistance. Connectivity options are comprehensive with dual SIM, 5G, dual-band WiFi, Bluetooth 5.3, GNSS, and USB Type-C. The device has a sleek profile, measuring 8.12mm thick and weighing 185g. Powering all of this is a 5,000mAh battery, supported by standard 10W wired charging.

Regarding its pricing in China, the Oppo A2m is available in various configurations:

6GB RAM + 128GB storage priced at ¥1,499 (approximately $205),
8GB RAM + 256GB storage at ¥1,799 (around $245),
And the 12GB RAM + 256GB storage variant comes in at ¥2,099 (close to $285).
Potential buyers can choose between two color variants: Starry Night Black or Flying Frost Purple.
