Pre-orders for Huawei Nova 12 series starting soon

Huawei is set to unveil its Nova 12 series of smartphones on December 26 in China, marking a significant addition to its product lineup. Ahead of the official release, interested customers have the opportunity to place pre-orders for the devices through Huawei's official flagship store on JD.com. The pre-sale of the Nova 12 series is scheduled to start at 16:08pm local time on the day of the announcement, following a strategy similar to the Huawei Mate 60 series. This approach, known as the Pioneer Plan, allows users to reserve their devices in advance of the official release date.

The Nova 12 series is anticipated to feature four models: the Nova 12 Vitality Edition (or Nova 12 Lite), Nova 12, Nova 12 Pro, and Nova 12 Ultra. Each model targets different price segments, with the Vitality Edition expected to be around 1,000 Yuan (140$), the standard version in the 2,000 Yuan (280$) range, and the Pro and Ultra versions likely to be priced at 3,000 Yuan (420$) and 4,000 Yuan (560$), respectively.

In terms of specifications, the Nova 12 Vitality Edition and Nova 12 are reported to be 4G models powered by Snapdragon chipsets. Specifically, the Nova 12 is rumored to feature the Snapdragon 778G 4G chip and support 66W fast charging. The higher-end models, Nova 12 Pro and Nova 12 Ultra, are speculated to be equipped with an under-clocked version of the Kirin 9000s chip, first seen in the Mate 60 series launched earlier this year. The Nova 12 Ultra is also expected to offer two-way satellite communication, adding to its high-tech appeal.

A recent leak has already revealed key specifications, configurations, and prices for all four devices. There are also reports that Huawei is developing the Huawei Pocket S2 flip-style foldable phone. However, there is no official confirmation yet if it will debut alongside the Nova 12 lineup. Contradictory reports suggest that the launch of the Pocket S2 may be postponed until 2024.
