One standout feature of the Ray-Ban Meta Smart Glasses is their ability to livestream video directly to Instagram and Facebook, a first in the realm of smart eyewear. This capability is likely to appeal to content creators and social media enthusiasts. The glasses are equipped with a 12MP ultra-wide camera capable of recording 1080p videos for up to 60 seconds. To ensure transparency and privacy, the glasses feature a white courtesy light on the outside, signaling to those around that recording is in progress.

With 32GB of internal storage, these smart glasses can store approximately 500 photos and 100 30-second videos. The Meta View app facilitates the easy sharing of your captured moments with other applications.

Under the hood, the glasses are powered by a Snapdragon AR1 Gen 1 processor, and they are rated IPX4 water-resistant, capable of withstanding light water splashes.

Audio quality has also received a significant upgrade, with the Ray-Ban Meta Smart Glasses offering audio that is 50% louder than the first generation. The improvements include enhanced clarity, deeper bass, and the addition of directional audio, which minimizes audio leakage and enhances the immersive listening experience.

The glasses retain the classic Wayfarer design and come in new colors as well as a transparent option. Just like Ray-Ban Stories, users have a range of lens options to choose from, including sun, polarized, clear, transitions, and prescription, with more than 150 variations in total.

The accompanying case, which doubles as a charger, has been downsized and made lighter, weighing 32% less. It can charge the headset up to eight times, providing a total of 36 hours of battery life before requiring a USB-C recharge.

Pre-orders for the Ray-Ban Meta Smart Glasses are available on Meta.com, Ray-Ban.com, and select retailers. The glasses will be officially available for sale on October 17 in various countries, including the US, Canada, Australia, and throughout Europe.
