Red Magic 8S Pro's worldwide release date got revealed
As a major player in the game-centric smartphone industry, Red Magic now makes its new gadget, the 8S Pro, available on the international stage post its Chinese debut.
Last week marked the release of Red Magic's 8S Pro series devices in China, incorporating an upgraded version of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset. The company has now disclosed that the global launch of the Red Magic 8S Pro is imminent.
Per the Red Magic global website, the 8S Pro is slated for global release on July 18. While pricing remains under wraps, the company has shed some light on the device's specifications. The smartphone is said to maintain the sleek, metallic design found on its Chinese counterpart and is powered by an advanced version of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC. Additional features include LPDDR5X RAM, UFS4.0 storage, and the ICE 12.0 cooling system to manage thermals.

The Red Magic 8S Pro stands out with a large 6.8-inch 120Hz AMOLED FHD+ display that offers a 960Hz touch sampling rate. It boasts a peak brightness of 1300 nits, 10-bit color depth, 100% DCI-P3 color gamut, and a 93.7% screen-to-body ratio. Of note, it includes a seventh-generation ultra-thin fingerprint sensor and an under-display camera.
Under the hood, the device is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 Advanced Edition, coupled with up to 12GB of LPDDR5X RAM and 512GB of UFS 4.0 internal storage. The Red Magic 8S Pro is also equipped with the RedCore R2 gaming chip developed in-house, as well as the ICE 12 Magic Cooling system for optimized gaming performance.
In the camera department, the smartphone features a triple-camera setup on the back with a 50-megapixel primary camera, an 8-megapixel ultra-wide-angle lens, and a 2-megapixel macro lens. It also accommodates a 16-megapixel front-facing camera for selfies and video calls.
Operating on Android 13 straight out of the box, the Red Magic 8S Pro integrates RedMagic OS 8.0 for a tailored user experience. Powering the device is a robust 6,000mAh battery that supports 80W fast charging technology.
