As the buzz from China suggests, October is shaping up to be an eventful month for smartphone enthusiasts with a plethora of launches on the horizon, including some exciting foldables.

One of the anticipated announcements comes from Oppo, which is set to introduce its new foldable smartphone, the Find N3. This new device is rumored to come with a dual-layer transistor CMOS sensor, a feature that promises a significant enhancement in image quality. The sensor's architecture segregates the transistors and photodiode layers, facilitating larger photodiodes. These enlarged photodiodes can harness more light, optimizing image quality even in less-than-ideal lighting conditions. Notably, this isn't a pioneering concept. Earlier in the year, Sony incorporated similar technology in its ExmorT IMX 888 stacked CMOS sensor with 2-layer transistor pixel tech, as seen in the Xperia 1 V.

In tandem, Honor is slated to release its own foldable phone this October, expanding its portfolio with a new smartwatch and another addition to the Play series. Huawei, not wanting to be left out of the October extravaganza, is reportedly gearing up to launch the Nova 11 SE series. The Nova 11 SE, from what we know, boasts a sleek flat back panel accentuated by a dual-circle camera module and a triple-camera configuration.

However, among the flurry of releases, the Oppo Find N3 is garnering the most attention, predominantly due to its innovative camera sensor. Oppo's collaboration with Sony's Lytia imaging sensor brand indicates a shift in smartphone photography. Their partnership aims to integrate dual-layer stacked Sony sensors into Oppo's future flagship models, potentially heralding a revolutionary phase in computational photography.

Moreover, the Oppo Find N3 isn't solely about the camera. Preliminary information suggests the device will feature a spacious 7.82-inch internal display with a resolution of 2268×2440 pixels, complemented by a 6.31-inch external screen at a resolution of 2484×1116 pixels.
