Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 was officially introduced

Qualcomm's latest innovation, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chip, was recently unveiled at the Snapdragon Summit in Hawaii. Constructed using a 4nm node, this chip is set to revolutionize the performance of high-end smartphones. It promises a 30% surge in processing power and a 25% improvement in energy efficiency when compared to its forerunner.

One of the most prominent advancements in this chip is its Neural Processing Unit (NPU), which now operates at speeds almost 98% faster. This allows for a remarkable 40% enhancement in performance-per-watt during continuous AI tasks. Photographers and those passionate about photography will benefit from Qualcomm's refined Image Signal Processor (ISP). It's been optimized to be compatible with Dolby HDR Photo Capture, which will notably improve photo displays on HDR-compatible screens. Gamers aren't left out either; they'll be pleased with the 240 frames per second support on 240 Hz displays and the chip's compatibility with Unreal Engine 5.2. Furthermore, the new Adreno graphics processing unit (GPU) promises to be 25% swifter and more energy-efficient, with Ray Tracing performance witnessing a significant 40% improvement.
