The Neo 8 series, which has been reminding itself through leaks for quite some time, was finally officially announced by the Chinese technology company.

The iQOO Neo 8 series, a first-of-its-kind development from Vivo's subsidiary, iQOO, has made its debut in China. The new lineup comprises the iQOO Neo 8 and the iQOO Neo 8 Pro, with the former succeeding last year's Neo 7. These two models share several similarities, but a few distinguishing elements set them apart.

Featuring a sleek design, the iQOO Neo 8 series showcases a rectangular rear camera module and a centrally placed punch-hole cutout display. Both models sport a 6.78-inch AMOLED screen, boasting a resolution of 1.5K and a high refresh rate of 144Hz. Ensuring security, these smartphones are equipped with an in-screen fingerprint scanner. They also offer an impressive peak brightness of 1300 nits, support for HDR10, and are powered by Vivo’s V1+ image chip.

In terms of photography, the iQOO Neo 8 Pro takes the lead with a 50MP Sony IMX866VCS primary sensor equipped with OIS, and an additional 8MP ultra-wide-angle lens. Conversely, the standard iQOO Neo 8 hosts a 50MP OIS-enabled primary lens, complemented by a 2MP depth sensor. Both variants feature a 16MP front-facing camera for capturing selfies.

Under their sleek exteriors, the iQOO Neo 8 and Neo 8 Pro run on Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 and Dimensity 9200+ processors, respectively. They offer up to 16GB LPDDR5 RAM and a whopping 1TB UFS 4.0 storage capacity, supplemented by virtual RAM technology. To handle heat generated during intensive tasks, the devices are fitted with a VC liquid cooling heat dissipation system. Powering these smartphones is a robust 5,000mAh battery, supported by 120W fast-charging capabilities. The operating system is Android 13, enhanced by Vivo's custom OriginOS 3 skin.

Unique to the iQOO Neo 8 Pro is a dual X-Axis linear motor. As for connectivity, both the standard and pro versions are equipped with a USB-C port, NFC, IR Blaster, WiFi, Bluetooth, and 5G.

Offered in Surf, Match Point, and Night Black color options, the iQOO Neo 8 is priced at RMB 2,499 ($354) and RMB 2,599 ($396) for the 12GB + 256GB and 12GB + 512GB variants respectively, while the 16GB + 512GB variant costs RMB 3,099 ($439). The Pro model is priced at RMB 3,299 ($467) for the 16GB + 256GB variant, and RMB 3,599 (~$510) for the 16GB + 512GB variant. The smartphones are set to hit the market on May 31.
