The Vivo X90 series recently hit the global market, but rumors are already swirling about the upcoming lineup: the Vivo X100 series. This next-generation series is speculated to include the X100, X100 Pro, and X100 Pro+ models. The Pro+ model is expected to make its debut next year, with the other two set for release later this year. As anticipation builds, insiders suggest that the series will boast a substantial camera enhancement, possibly including a periscope zoom lens. Here's what we know.

Discussion regarding the Vivo X100 series is already heating up on Chinese social media platform Weibo, where opinions are split. Some assert that the Vivo X100 will lack a periscope lens, while others are adamant that a periscope camera will be a prominent feature in the series. Recalling Vivo's history, it has consistently incorporated a periscope telephoto lens in its flagship phones since the launch of the Vivo X70 Pro series in 2021. Therefore, it would be surprising if the X100 series was to forgo this feature.

Recent leaks suggest that the X100 is slated to incorporate a Sony IMX9-series 1/14x-inch primary sensor, complemented by a 12-megapixel Sony IMX663 ultra-wide lens and a 64-megapixel OmniVision OV64B telephoto lens. The primary camera is rumored to be an upgraded version of the IMX9-series sensor, succeeding the IMX866. Meanwhile, the X100 Pro is speculated to showcase a 1-inch primary camera, a new periscope zoom camera, and potentially retain the 12-megapixel IMX663 ultra-wide lens.

Both the Vivo X100 and X100 Pro are rumored to be powered by the Dimensity 9300 chipset, with a debut expected as soon as November this year in China. On the other hand, the X100 Pro+, speculated to carry the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset, is forecasted to launch in the first quarter of 2024.
