Vivo Y78m got introduced discreetly

The Vivo Y78m has discreetly made its debut in China, marking the latest addition to the Y78 series which previously featured models like the Vivo Y78 and Y78+. Interestingly, the Vivo Y78m mirrors the Y78 model that was introduced in May of this year, with the primary distinction being their color choices and configurations.

Boasting a 6.64-inch LCD panel, the Vivo Y78m offers an FHD+ resolution of 1080 x 2388 pixels. This translates to a 19.9:9 aspect ratio, a 1500:1 contrast ratio, a DCI-P3 color spectrum, and a refresh rate of 120Hz. Vivo takes pride in the device’s impressive screen-to-body ratio, which stands at 91.06%.

For photography enthusiasts, the Vivo Y78m is equipped with an 8-megapixel front camera. Meanwhile, its back features a 50-megapixel primary camera complemented by a 2-megapixel portrait lens. The smartphone operates on Android 13 coupled with FunTouch OS 13 and incorporates a side-mounted fingerprint sensor for security.

Performance-wise, the Vivo Y78m is powered by the Dimensity 7020 chipset, known as the rebranded version of the Dimensity 930. The Y78 model comes in three configurations: 8 GB RAM + 128 GB storage, 8 GB RAM + 256 GB storage, and 12 GB RAM + 256 GB storage. Contrastingly, the Y78m is solely available in a 12 GB RAM + 256 GB storage setup.

Energy needs for the Y78m are met by a 5,000mAh battery that supports 44W fast charging. The device also offers various features such as dual SIM capability, 5G support, Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.2, GPS, NFC, a USB-C port, and a conventional 3.5mm audio jack.

In terms of pricing, the Vivo Y78m has been set at 1,999 Yuan (approximately $275) for the singular 12GB+256GB variant. It is expected to be available in China soon, and prospective buyers can anticipate additional color options like black and blue. For reference, the Y78 model is currently available in black, green, and gold.
