Meta's WhatsApp is undergoing a significant overhaul, adopting Google’s Material Design principles for a more consistent user experience across iOS and Android platforms. In version 2.23.16.3, WhatsApp has introduced some substantial updates to the interface, including the application of Material Design 3 and a new layout for the security notifications screen. However, the standout feature is a new option that lets users create a group while forwarding messages.

For this feature, the procedure is straightforward. Users can see a new “create group” icon when they forward a message. By tapping on this icon, they can immediately set up a new group and choose the members. The forwarded message will automatically be sent to all members of the new group.

This innovative "Forward to New Group" feature not only optimizes time but also provides a unique chance to establish groups tailored to specific events or common interests. It allows users to connect and share messages that encourage them to form a group around a particular topic.

Currently, this feature is being progressively released to a limited group of beta testers who have updated to the latest WhatsApp beta for Android version available on the Google Play Store. The company intends to extend its reach to more users soon.

Besides this, WhatsApp has introduced other enhancements. For instance, the messaging app now offers WhatsApp for Wear OS smartwatches, allowing users to access their messages directly from their wrist. Another significant update is that users can now message unfamiliar contacts without saving their numbers, further streamlining the communication process.
