Xiaomi has recently expanded its range of wearable tech by introducing the Smart Band 8 Active smartwatch. This latest device is effectively a global rebranding of the previously introduced Redmi Smart Band 2. Interestingly, this launch follows closely on the heels of the Smart Band 8, which made its debut in China five months prior.

The Smart Band 8 Active boasts a 1.47-inch display, providing users with a bright visual experience thanks to its resolution of 172 x 320 pixels, 247 PPI pixel density, and a peak brightness of 450 nits. Users can customize the look of their device with more than 100 pre-installed watch faces. Not just a visual treat, the device promises longevity with its battery life extending up to 14 days on a single charge. This is significantly powered by its 210mAh battery.

While aesthetically pleasing and technologically advanced, Xiaomi hasn't compromised on the device's functionality. It comes packed with various health monitoring features and over 50 preinstalled fitness modes. However, it's worth noting that it does not have GPS location data integration, which might be a consideration for outdoor sports enthusiasts.

In terms of its design, the Smart Band 8 Active offers users a choice of five watch band colors. However, currently, only the black and pink variants are up for grabs. Customers in the UK can avail of the black version, while the pink variant can be purchased via AliExpress.

Currently, the Smart Band 8 Active is retailing in regions like the UK, Germany, and is also accessible globally through AliExpress. Potential buyers can expect to shell out £19.99 in the UK, €24.99 in the EU, and $15.90 on AliExpress.
