Sony has announced that PlayStation VR2 headset pre-orders are now open and do not require an invite. Here aree all the details.

The PlayStation VR2's price and release date were revealed by Sony last month. To pre-order the device at that time, Sony required registration and an invitation. However, Sony has now opened pre-orders for anyone with a Sony PlayStation Direct account ahead of the its release in a few months.

PlayStation VR2 is now available through pre-orders without an invitation

If you were unable to pre-order Sony's PlayStation VR2 headset, do not worry. To pre-order the PlayStation VR2 headset through the PlayStation Direct store, an invitation is no longer required. The next-generation PlayStation 5 headset will not necessarily be out of reach for months. Sony anticipates shipping the headset between February 22 and February 28.

In the initial round of pre-orders, potential PS VR2 owners were required to indicate their interest and wait for an invitation from Sony. Given that it is uncertain how much stock Sony will have at launch, you can now reserve one to at least give yourself the option of purchasing the headset in February. If you decide to change your mind, you can always cancel a pre-order.
