Earlier this year, Honor made waves in the tech industry with the release of the MagicBook X Pro laptops, available in both 14-inch and 16-inch variants. These models came equipped with Intel Core i5-13500H processors. Now, Honor seems to be preparing for another notable launch, with the introduction of the Honor MagicBook X Pro Ryzen Edition, featuring Zen 4-based R7 7840HS series processors.

While the exact launch date remains under wraps, the Honor MagicBook X Pro Ryzen Edition is expected to hit the Chinese markets in the near future. The exciting feature of this new notebook is its R7 7840HS series chipset, which is based on the advanced Zen 4 architecture. For those who may not be familiar, AMD Zen 4 is a highly-regarded CPU microarchitecture by AMD, succeeding the Zen 3 and employing TSMC’s N5 process for CCDs.

The remaining specifications for this laptop are yet to be announced, but if we look at the previous Honor MagicBook X 14 Pro Intel edition, it offers a glimpse of what could be expected. Launched in March 2023, this model boasted a Core i5-13500H processor and an impressively thin and light design, weighing just 1.34 kg and 15.9 mm thick. Its attractive features included an integrated metal hinge, a sharp 14-inch 2.2K screen, e-book mode support, and Rheinland eye protection certification.

The device was furnished with up to 1TB solid-state hard drive, which could be expanded to 2TB. It also featured MagicOS smart interconnection, a key element of the Honor MagicBook X Pro series. In China, the starting price for this laptop was set at 4,499 yuan, approximately $649. It will be interesting to see how the upcoming Ryzen Edition compares in terms of specifications and pricing.
