Lenovo launched its new IdeaPad Chromebook model

Today, Lenovo has unveiled a new series of Chromebooks, joining other tech giants like Acer, HP, and Asus in the Chromebook realm. Their latest offerings fall under the IdeaPad Chromebook umbrella, encompassing three distinct models: the IdeaPad Gaming Chromebook Plus, the IdeaPad Flex 5i Chromebook Plus, and the IdeaPad Slim 3i Chromebook Plus. With this diverse range, Lenovo aims to cater to various user needs.

The IdeaPad Gaming Chromebook Plus stands out with its slim design and a 16-inch display, even while weighing less than 1.95 kg. This model showcases a 16-inch WQXGA screen that refreshes at 120Hz and boasts 100% sRGB color coverage. The device is powered by a 12th Gen Intel Core i5-1235U processor, coupled with Intel Iris Xe Graphics. The RAM is fixed at 8GB LPDDR4x, but storage can range from 128GB eMMC up to 512GB SSD. Running ChromeOS, this Chromebook promises battery longevity of up to 12 hours and houses a 1080p FHD camera complete with a privacy shutter.

In contrast, the IdeaPad Flex 5i Chromebook Plus offers the versatility of a 2-in-1 convertible, sporting a 14-inch FHD IPS touch display. It is relatively lightweight, starting at 1.62 kg. This model utilizes a 12th Gen Intel Core i3-1215U processor, complemented by Intel UHD Graphics. It carries the same 8GB LPDDR4X RAM and storage options as its Gaming counterpart, but promises slightly less battery life of up to 10 hours.

The third model, IdeaPad Slim 3i Chromebook Plus, also flaunts a 14-inch FHD touch screen. Potential buyers can choose between the Intel Core i5-1334U or Core i3-1315U processor options. Like the other models, it offers 8GB of LPDDR5 RAM, but storage choices are between 128GB eMMC and a maximum of 256GB SSD. The battery life aligns with the Gaming model, offering up to 12 hours on a single charge.

For those interested in making a purchase, the IdeaPad Slim 3i Chromebook Plus 14” and IdeaPad Flex 5i Chromebook Plus 14” are available in North America, priced at $549.99 and $499.99, respectively. However, the Lenovo IdeaPad Gaming Chromebook Plus 16” is currently exclusive to the EMEA region and starts at 599 euros.
