NVIDIA introduced RTX 4090 series graphics card last month. This graphics card, featuring great innovation, is currently unrivaled in terms of graphics power. However, things did not go as planned with this flagship GPU. Graphic giant's new flagship GPU is reported to have burned its power cables, according to reports from around the world. Reports from Tom's Hardware have revealed new incidents experienced by RTX 4090 users. According to details, Gigabyte RTX 4090 user has claimed that he smelled of burnings on his desktop and afterwards his computer turned off. Opening the case, he saw that the 16-pin ATX 2.0 power adapter of the RTX 4090 melted. 

On the other hand, another user complained about the same incident. An ASUS TUF RTX 4090 user reported that his GPU melted its power cable. He said, "A few hours ago I was doing a game session, playing Black Desert with my dungeon party. Suddenly the screen went black and all the fans started spinning at 100%. My computer shut down and after some inspection I realized that the power adapter was damaged."

Moreover, along with frightening reports, NVIDIA started investigation for these incident. When a video card is in a condition that it can melt its cable, it is usually caused by errors during manufacturing. Therefore, a faulty GPU can melt its power adapter. However, users are afraid when it comes to the RTX 4090. As this graphics card is extremely expensive, users do not want their graphics cards to be burned. 

Lastly, Tom’s Hardware reached to NVIDIA for an official statement, and they have got the following response: “We are investigating the reports. We are in contact with the first owner and will be reaching out to the other for additional information.”
