Shrek, a series loved by everyone, big and small, will come back with his new movie. Despite all this time, DreamWorks partner Chris Meledandri says "the players are looking forward to returning" A studio executive claims that a fifth Shrek movie is in the works with the original ensemble returning. Shrek Forever After, the final film in the series, was published 13 years ago.
Shrek 5 is on the way
Illumination creator Chris Meledandri is collaborating with the movie studio DreamWorks to bring back the beloved series of movies. He claimed that veteran actors like Eddie Murphy, Mike Myers, and Cameron Diaz are all "anticipated" to appear in a new movie. Shrek was such a huge hit years ago and altough it lost some popularity still many people love it.
Meledandri stated that he considered the original ensemble to be a "huge part" of a fresh movie that would take viewers to "brand new places." It's not that different from the process we went through with "Mario," (the Super Mario Bros. Movie), where you look at what the core elements are that audiences have enjoyed, and you try your hardest to honor those core elements, he said in an interview with Variety.
