Huawei has unveiled its latest addition to the smart wearables market, the Huawei Eyewear 2 smart glasses, at its recent autumn product launch event, where it also introduced the Mate 60 RS Ultimate, Watch GT 4, and MatePad Pro 13.2. These smart glasses were first showcased at an event in Barcelona just last week.

The Eyewear 2 smart glasses come in a range of styles, including the newly introduced Titanium Sky and Gold Wire styles, which join the existing lineup featuring frameless, aviator, and square semi-frame styles. The Titanium Sky variant is designed with a lightweight β-titanium frame, weighing a mere 4.7g and boasting a streamlined floating design. In contrast, the Gold Wire style stands out with its 18K gold plating and a sleek thin border. Huawei has also made these smart glasses more user-friendly by reducing the width of the speaker temples by 20% to 9.7mm and decreasing the width at the tail end by 28% to 8.3mm.

Notably, the Eyewear 2 introduces an industry-first forward-facing dual diaphragm immersive unit, increasing speaker amplitude by 40% and media playback volume by 30%, promising an enhanced audio experience. The glasses also incorporate triple noise cancellation technology for clear voice calls.

Enhanced touch control sensors on the temples have expanded the touch control area to 23mm, a 50% increase compared to the previous model, reducing the chances of accidental touches and ensuring smooth operation.

For connectivity, the glasses offer seamless connections to multiple devices, with easy audio switching between smartphones and tablets running HarmonyOS. They are compatible with Android, iOS, and Windows systems and support Neck Health 2.0.

Battery life sees significant improvements, offering up to 11 hours of continuous listening, an 83% increase over the previous model, and up to 9 hours of talk time, double the capacity of its predecessor. A quick 10-minute charge provides 3 hours of listening time, and a full charge takes just 50 minutes.

Pre-orders for the Eyewear 2 start on September 25th, and official sales begin on September 30th. Pricing varies, with the Titanium Sky Optical Glasses priced at 2299 yuan ($314), Gold Wire Optical Glasses at 1899 yuan ($260), and frameless, aviator, and square semi-frame optical glasses at 1699 yuan ($232).
