In a recent report, the research firm Omdia predicts that Apple will unveil an iPad Pro with an OLED panel in 2024. The upcoming iPad Pro models are anticipated to come in two sizes, 11-inch and 13-inch, featuring Low-Temperature Polycrystalline Oxide (LTPO) OLED panels. Production for these new devices is slated to kick off in the early part of the coming year.

The decision to incorporate an OLED screen is set to bring a variety of advantages to the iPad Pro lineup. OLED displays are renowned for their excellent black levels, pixel-per-pixel light control, superior contrast, and High Dynamic Range (HDR) capabilities. Additionally, they're energy efficient, and the incorporation of LTPO technology allows for dynamic adjustment of the display refresh rate, further optimizing power consumption.

This shift to OLED displays signifies a notable upgrade from Apple’s existing use of Mini LED LCD panels in the iPad Pro series. As a brand synonymous with dedication to high-quality display technology, Apple’s transition to OLED emphasizes its commitment to providing users with an exceptional visual experience.

While the prospect of OLED iPad Pros generates excitement among Apple enthusiasts, the report suggests potential delays for MacBooks with OLED displays. Previously, it was rumored that OLED-equipped MacBooks would launch in 2024, but recent information indicates that these models are likely to face substantial delays, pushing the expected debut to 2027.

Apple has historically been conservative when it comes to implementing OLED technology, selectively using it in the iPhone and Apple Watch series while excluding it from the iPad and MacBook ranges. Despite the delay in the integration of OLED technology into MacBook models, Apple's ongoing exploration of OLED displays shows its commitment to maintaining its leadership in display technology.

As Apple continues to drive innovation and improve its product portfolio, customers can look forward to further updates and official announcements regarding the forthcoming OLED-equipped iPad Pro models and the future integration of OLED displays in the MacBook lineup.
