ASUS is gearing up to excite the global smartphone market with the impending launch of its ROG Ally 8 series. This new addition to the ASUS lineup is expected to be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor, and is speculated to feature ASUS’s advanced heat dissipation technology, specifically designed to enhance gaming performance. The brand has recently announced that this highly anticipated device will make its debut in China on January 16, marking a significant milestone for the series.

While the announcement didn't shed light on new details of the smartphone, it confirmed that the launch event is scheduled for 7:30 PM (GMT+8). The ROG Phone 8 series, despite ASUS not confirming any specifics beyond a glimpse of the back design in the teaser, has been a topic of considerable interest among tech enthusiasts. Intrigued netizens have enhanced the teaser image, revealing a redesigned camera island that features a unique square-shaped module which extends into a pentagon, cutting off from the right edge. This camera setup appears to house three camera modules along with an LED flash. The absence of flashy RGB LEDs on the back suggests that this model could be the standard ROG Phone 8.

Geekbench listings have revealed intriguing details about the series, which includes the ROG Phone 8, ROG Phone 8 Pro, and ROG Phone 8 Ultimate. The standard ROG Phone 8 is listed with 16GB of RAM, whereas the Pro and Ultimate models are equipped with a heftier 24GB of RAM. The listings further indicate that while the standard model sports the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC, the Pro and Ultimate variants might feature an overclocked version of the chipset, offering a slightly higher peak clock speed.

ASUS ROG has planned an event on January 8, just a day before CES 2024, where they aim to unveil their new lineup for the year. While the global launch date for the ROG Phone 8 series remains unconfirmed, it is widely speculated that this event could see the unveiling of the much-awaited ROG Phone 8.
