Xiaomi is on the cusp of unveiling its latest flagship series, the Xiaomi 14, which is set to debut later this month. Notably, this series will mark a departure from Xiaomi's traditional MIUI, introducing the company’s in-house HyperOS. In a move to enhance photographic capabilities, the company has collaborated with Leica to incorporate their esteemed Summilux lenses, celebrated for their superior image quality.

This collaboration is a step up from Xiaomi's previous partnership with Leica, where the Summicron lenses were used in models such as the Xiaomi 12/13 series and the concept phone, Xiaomi 12S Ultra.

Interestingly, while Leica's own Leitz Phone 2 is equipped with Summicron lenses, the more advanced Summilux variants have been a feature in Huawei phones, marking Huawei as one of Leica's pioneering smartphone associates.

The integration of the Leica Summilux lens promises to catapult the camera quality of the Xiaomi 14 series to new heights, with Xiaomi asserting that it will provide unrivaled mobile imaging. The series is also slated to debut a novel image sensor, details of which remain under wraps. Beyond optics, the Xiaomi 14 phones will be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset. It is anticipated that the series will comprise the standard Xiaomi 14 and a more advanced 14 Pro. Following the brand's convention, a Xiaomi 14 Ultra is likely to be introduced in the subsequent year.
