Foldable devices are our new normal now. After Samsung's foldables the trend has shifted more than ever. Huawei and other companies have joined this trend while Apple is still on hold. Due to their recent development, foldable cellphones are still a rather specialized market segment. But it seems that these gadgets are becoming more and more well-liked.

An IDC study predicts that 21.4 million more foldable phones will be shipped globally in 2027 than in 2023. This represents an enormous increase of 50% over the 14.2 million units distributed in 2022. According to the estimate, 48.1 million foldable phones will be shipped in total in 2027. In other terms, from 2022 to 2027, this represents a compound annual growth rate of 27.6 percent.

All companies have offered their foldable version yet we still wait for a foldable iPhone. 

As per Anthony Scarsella, Research Manager, Mobile Phones at IDC, The foldable phone market finished slightly higher than previously forecast as consumers start to embrace the new form factor. A 10% decline in ASP helped the market grow 75.5% in 2022, as foldable devices became more affordable in numerous markets.
