Honor has made a significant impact on the smartphone industry with the Honor Magic V2, a book-style foldable device that's thinner and lighter than any other foldable on the market, even lighter than the iPhone 14 Pro Max. In addition to this innovation, rumors suggest Honor will also be launching a flip phone. While exact details are still awaited, a company executive has hinted at a release in the upcoming year.

In a report, an Honor executive recently shared that the company plans to launch its first Flip phone in 2024. This announcement was made by Daniel Wang, Honor Middle East and Africa (MEA) president, during a media roundtable at the MEA launch of the HONOR 90 series.

While there's no explicit information on what the device will offer, expectations are high. If it follows the trend set by the Honor Magic V2, the new flip phone could boast a lightweight design and might even be thin. An industry trend that it might also follow is having a large cover screen.

However, the upcoming Honor Flip will have to prove itself against formidable competition. With established models like the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 5 and the Moto Razr 40 Ultra already in the market, these phones have set a high bar with their durability, well-designed hinges, and other notable features. The folding phone market is known for its fierce competition, so Honor will need to create a compelling value proposition to succeed.
