Huawei is garnering attention with the recent introduction of the Mate 60 series and the Mate X5 foldable phone, which sport the Kirin 9000s chip. Concurrently, the tech giant is purportedly navigating through the development of the Enjoy 70 series, Nova 11 SE, and Nova 12 series, all aimed at captivating the Chinese market. In an intriguing twist, a whisper from a local tipster implies that Huawei is crafting a new flagship phone, bearing remarkable resemblance to the Honor Magic 5 Pro, though details regarding the name of this device remain nebulous.

Rumors abound that Huawei is steadily progressing in developing the P70 series of flagship smartphones. However, the ambiguity remains, as the tipster’s reference could pertain to one of the P70 variants or an entirely distinct product. The internal debate around the incorporation of a Snapdragon or Kirin chip in the speculated Huawei phone is also ripe, especially considering the Magic 5 Pro is outfitted with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC.

Diving into the Honor Magic 5 Pro, it boasts a 6.81-inch OLED LTPO panel, delivering a resolution of 1312 x 2848 pixels, accompanied by a 120Hz refresh rate and an in-screen fingerprint scanner. The device runs on the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset and, in its most premium configuration, provides 16 GB of LPDDR5x RAM and 512 GB of UFS 4.0 storage.

The rear camera assembly of the Magic 5 Pro is configured with three 50-megapixel cameras, encompassing a primary camera with OIS, an ultra-wide lens with a 122-degree FOV, and a periscope telephoto camera also with OIS and 3.5x optical zoom support. At the forefront, it features a 12-megapixel ultra-wide selfie camera with a 100-degree FOV and a ToF 3D sensor facilitating 3D face unlock. The Chinese variant encases a 5,450mAh battery, while the global version is powered by a 5,100mAh battery. This flagship supports 66W wired and 50W wireless charging and even extends 5W reverse wireless charging.
