iQOO 12 and iQOO 12 Pro are officially introduced!

Today, the iQOO brand, a subsidiary of Vivo, launched the iQOO 12 series in China, introducing the iQOO 12 and its more premium counterpart, the iQOO 12 Pro. These smartphones serve as the successors to the iQOO 11 series and bring several improvements.

Both the iQOO 12 and 12 Pro feature AMOLED displays boasting a 144Hz refresh rate, peak brightness of 3,000 nits, an integrated fingerprint scanner, and HDR10 support. The iQOO 12 is fitted with a 6.74-inch flat screen and offers a 1.5K resolution. In contrast, the Pro model elevates the viewing experience with a 6.7-inch curved-edge 2K display.

In terms of design, the standard iQOO 12 adopts a boxy form factor while the iQOO 12 Pro offers a sleeker silhouette. They both sport a square camera module with curved edges, a refreshing update from the traditional rectangular island seen in previous iQOO flagships. The durability varies slightly between the two; the iQOO 12 comes with an IP64 rating, and the Pro version is enhanced with an IP68 certification, indicating a higher resistance to dust and water.

The camera systems on both phones are impressive, featuring a trio of rear lenses that include a 50MP main sensor with optical image stabilization (OIS), a 50MP ultra-wide-angle lens, and a 64MP telephoto periscope lens capable of 3x optical and 100x digital zoom, also with OIS support. Selfie enthusiasts will appreciate the 16MP front-facing camera on each device.

The performance aspect is where the iQOO 12 series truly shines, with both models powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor, supported by a dedicated e-sports Q1 chipset for an outstanding gaming experience. The devices are configured with up to 16GB of LPDDR5x RAM and offer a maximum of 1TB UFS 4.0 storage. They are built to handle intense usage with a large VC vapor chamber and a sophisticated four-zone cooling system.

Battery life is robust, with the iQOO 12 housing a 5,000mAh battery compatible with 120W wired charging, while the Pro version boasts a 5,100mAh battery, supporting both 120W wired and 50W wireless charging. Both smartphones come with OriginOS 4, which is based on the latest Android 14 operating system.

Additional features that enhance the user experience include an X-axis linear motor and dual stereo speakers. For connectivity, the devices come with a USB-C port, Wi-Fi 7, NFC, an IR Blaster, and Bluetooth 5.4.

Pricing for the iQOO 12 starts at approximately $550 for the 12GB RAM and 256GB storage model, and goes up to around $645 for the 16GB RAM and 1TB storage option. The iQOO 12 Pro, available only with 16GB RAM, ranges from roughly $685 to $825 for the 256GB to 1TB storage configurations. Both models are offered in a choice of Black, White, and Red colors.

The iQOO 12 series marks a significant step in the evolution of iQOO's product line, blending powerful performance with aesthetic design to cater to the demands of modern smartphone users.
