Motorola is in the process of introducing a new addition to its Edge series. Speculated to be named the Edge 40 Neo, this upcoming smartphone will be a successor to the Edge 30 Neo launched last year. Recent insights into its specs have been gleaned from its appearance on the TDRA certification and Geekbench, a well-known benchmarking platform.

Within the Geekbench database, the Edge 40 Neo has been associated with the 'manaus' motherboard. It's powered by an eight-core processor that runs at a base clock speed of 2GHz. While the exact chipset isn't identified, indications lean towards the MediaTek Dimensity 1050.

The device also comes with 8GB RAM and operates on the Android 13 OS. Performance-wise, in Geekbench’s tests, the Edge 40 Neo garnered scores of 3,559 for single-core and 8,508 for multi-core. Another noteworthy feature confirmed by the TRDA certification is the smartphone's 5G connectivity.

Further details, derived from sources that remain unnamed, suggest the device will boast a 6.55-inch center-aligned punch-hole pOLED display with FHD+ resolution and a 144Hz refresh rate. The rear of the phone will feature a compact rectangular camera module containing a 50MP primary sensor and a 13MP secondary one. Under the hood, it's expected to have the Dimensity 1050 SoC, paired with 12GB RAM and a storage capacity of 256GB. Energizing this device will be a 5,000mAh battery, with 67W fast charging capabilities. As for its market entry, speculations hint at a launch in Italy around September 15 with a price tag of EUR 399.
