Realme GT 5 finally hits the market in full swing

Realme recently took the wraps off its latest creation, the Realme GT 5, in China. Making its debut on August 28, the device was up for grabs in a special limited-time sale lasting two hours on its launch day. The response? An impressive 30,000 units were snapped up by eager consumers. Now, the broader public has the chance to purchase this device as its open sale begins in its domestic market.

The Realme GT 5 boasts two charging options: 150W and 240W. For the 150W version, customers can select between two configurations: 12 GB RAM coupled with 256 GB storage and the more substantial 16 GB RAM with 512 GB storage, tagged at 2,999 Yuan (approximately $413) and 3,299 Yuan (around $454), respectively. Those eyeing the 240W variant can expect a price tag of 3,799 Yuan, which translates to roughly $523. It's not just about power and performance; the GT 5 ensures users can also express themselves with two color choices: Starry Oasis and Flowing Silver.

Diving deeper into its specifications, the Realme GT 5 flaunts a 6.74-inch OLED display, boasting a 1.5K resolution (1240 x 2772 pixels) and an ultra-smooth 144Hz refresh rate. It runs the latest Realme UI 4.0 on top of Android 13 and offers heightened security with an under-display fingerprint scanner. Photography enthusiasts will appreciate the device's camera setup: a 16-megapixel selfie snapper and a rear trio consisting of a 50-megapixel primary sensor (OIS-enabled Sony IMX890), an 8-megapixel ultra-wide-angle shooter, and a 2-megapixel macro lens. Powering these features are two battery options.

The 150W model houses a 5,240mAh unit, whereas its 240W counterpart carries a 4,600mAh battery. At the heart of the GT 5 lies the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset, complemented by LPDDR5x RAM and UFS 4.0 storage. And to ensure seamless connectivity, the device boasts features such as 5G, Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 5.3, an IR blaster, and triple-frequency GPS.
