Xiaomi is all set for the launch of its Redmi Note 13 5G series in India, a highly anticipated event scheduled for January 4. This series will introduce three variants to the market: Redmi Note 13 5G, Redmi Note 13 Pro 5G, and Redmi Note 13 Pro+ 5G. In a recent development, the Indian variant of the Redmi Note 13 Pro 5G, identified as model number 2312DRA50I, has been spotted on the Geekbench benchmark database.

The Geekbench listing has revealed some key specifications of the Redmi Note 13 Pro 5G. It confirms that the smartphone will be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 7s Gen 2 SoC, making it the world’s first phone to use this chipset, as announced by the brand. The device impressively scored 1030 points in the single-core and 2851 points in the multi-core tests.

One of the surprising revelations from the listing is the phone's memory configuration, which is set to feature a 12GB option. However, it's important to note that the Redmi Note 13 Pro 5G will come with an operating system based on Android 13. This raises some concerns, especially considering that Android 14 has already been available for a while.

This aspect brings to light a potential limitation in software support for the Redmi Note 13 Pro 5G. If Xiaomi commits to a standard 3-year update cycle for this device, it would only receive major updates up to Android 16. This is in contrast to the extended benefits it could have received with an Android 14-based OS.

In addition, a recent leak has hinted at the pricing for the Redmi Note 13 Pro Plus. The 12GB RAM + 256GB storage configuration is expected to be priced at Rs 32,999. More details about the series are anticipated as the launch date nears, creating a buzz among Xiaomi enthusiasts and smartphone buyers in India.
