Vivo has recently introduced the Y17s, marking its latest addition to the Y-series. This entry-level smartphone is notable for its teardrop notch display, and its 50-megapixel dual-camera setup on the back. The phone boasts a 6.56-inch IPS LCD panel with an HD+ resolution of 720 x 1612 pixels. The display also features a 60Hz refresh rate, 840 nits of brightness, a 269 ppi pixel density, and covers 83 percent of the NTSC color gamut.

When it comes to camera capabilities, the front houses an 8-megapixel camera for selfies, while the back panel showcases the 50-megapixel primary lens complemented by a 2-megapixel bokeh snapper. Powering the device is the MediaTek Helio G85 chipset, accompanied by 6 GB of LPDDR4x RAM and 128 GB of eMMC 5.1 storage. Users in need of more storage space will appreciate the dedicated microSD card slot. The Y17s runs on Android 13, enriched by Vivo's FunTouch OS 13.

Battery life is essential for many users, and the Y17s doesn't disappoint with its robust 5,000mAh battery, which is compatible with 15W charging. With this capacity, users can enjoy nearly 20 hours of continuous YouTube video playback. Additional features include dual SIM support, dual-band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.0, GPS, a USB-C port, and a 3.5mm audio jack. The phone also boasts an IP54-rated chassis for added protection. As for the price, the Y17s is available in Singapore for SGD 199 (approximately $146) and offers two color variants: Glitter Purple and Forest Green. It's expected that Vivo will soon launch this model in other Asian markets.
