The excitement around Google's second-generation Pixel Watch is palpable as its unveiling date on October 4 approaches. The tech giant has kept most details close to its chest, particularly the distinctions between the original Pixel Watch and the new iteration. Nevertheless, recent findings have hinted at potential accessories that might accompany the Pixel Watch 2.

One accessory that's piqued interest is the Milanese strap. Initially showcased by Google last year but never brought to market, this elegant watch band might soon be available to consumers. Although its price point remains undisclosed, it was previously marked at $129.99, offering a high-end alternative for those looking to augment their smartwatches.

In addition, whispers have arisen about the Metal Slim band. Documents from the FCC mentioned this accessory last month, linking it to the Pixel Watch 2. The cost is still under wraps, but given that Google's first-generation metal bands were priced at $199.99, it suggests another upscale choice for users eager to customize their wearables.

On the technical side, the Pixel Watch 2 is anticipated to be powered by the Snapdragon W5 Gen 1 chipset, promising enhanced performance and power efficiency. This move could mean longer battery life, given the 4% increase in battery capacity, now registering at 306mAh. While the initial Pixel Watch was critiqued for its pronounced bezels, the new model is expected to retain a 1.2-inch OLED panel with a 384 x 384 resolution. Notably, Samsung will be providing this display, which might usher in battery-conserving features and heightened brightness levels.

The Pixel Watch 2, running on Wear OS 4 based on Android 13, is set to introduce seamless updates—a first for wearable devices. Updates will be processed in the background and will be activated upon device restart, potentially taking up more storage space. An intriguing addition is the Ultra-Wide Band (UWB) technology, integrated through an NXP SR100T UWB module. This feature will be instrumental in precisely locating lost devices and will also empower the Pixel Watch 2 to double as a Digital Car key, compatible with numerous leading car manufacturers.
