Twitter offers a new feed feature

TikTok is popular for its algoritmic feed, and now Twitter also rolled up its sleeves to offer a feature that looks like it.  The "sparkle" button that toggles between algorithmic and reverse chronological feeds has been replaced by Twitter and now at the service of iOS users.

You can now change your timeline by swiping between "For You" and "Following," and the For You tab will always appear first when you open the app.

The feature displays tweets from accounts you follow in no particular order, just like Home and TikTok do, as well as tweets from accounts you might like that have been selected by an algorithm.

In fact, Twitter introduced a feature that is very similar earlier this year. It lets you switch timelines by swiping between "Home" and "Latest Tweets." However, days later, after receiving a slew of complaints from users who did not like the fact that Home was essentially forced upon them, it abandoned the concept. With the choice to choose which feed you want users now can shift their feed how they want to be.
