Today, YouTube announced that short-term video creators will soon be permitted up to a minute of copyrighted music in their ShortsYouTube claims that its short-form creators will be able to use licensed music "for most tracks" for anywhere from 30 to 60 seconds. However, licensing agreements will determine which songs fall within which window, so some songs will remain within the previous 15-second limit. In the YouTube app's audio picker, creators can quickly see how much time each song gives them. On iOS and Android, the new song-length options begin today and will continue "over the next few weeks."
