There are some changes in smartphone market when it comes to batteries and Apple is no exception. Apple said earlier this week that it will significantly change the battery technology it uses for its range of products. The tech giant has announced their plans for 2025 now. Within the next two years, the company will switch to using exclusively cobalt batteries that can be recycled.

Apple has declared that by 2025 it will switch to using only recycled cobalt. By the end of this decade, the brand wants all of its consumer electronics items to be carbon neutral. Additionally, Apple revealed that its patented printed circuit board design will be built on recycled materials and that the magnets in its various types of gadgets will employ recycled rare earth elements.

There are some underlying reasons of this vision. Tech giant aims to achieve true carbon neutrality by 2030, encompassing both its whole supply chain and the lifespan of each product. The business revealed earlier this week that it has quadrupled its investment in initiatives to reduce the overall carbon footprint of that brand.
