Apple Pay surpasses Samsung Pay in South Korea
Apple Pay has been showing its strenght in the sense for paying applications. Here are all the details.
Samsung dominates South Korean in many ways but about paying applications Apple has been showing its powerful ways in Asia as well. In collaboration with Hyundai Card, the credit card service division of Hyundai Motor Group, Apple Pay will eventually be made available in Samsung's native South Korea "in the coming months."
It would be fascinating to watch how Apple Pay launches since it will compete with Samsung Pay in the latter's home market. With a market share of almost 80%, it is understandable that Samsung Pay has thus far dominated the mobile payments sector in South Korea.
Apple Pay surpasses Samsung Pay in South Korea
The Korea Financial Services Commission announced last week that credit card companies there are authorized to introduce the Apple Pay service, provided that no surcharges are levied against customers or retailers. Hyundai Card is therefore eager to make it happen right now.
South Korea will be the tenth Asia-Pacific country to accept Apple Pay. Australia, New Zealand, China, Hong Kong, Macao, Japan, Malaysia, Singapore, and Taiwan are the current countries where it is already available.
