Artificial Intelligence has been getting into our lives more and more every day with an advanced technology. To some AI can cause some threat to human kind in future. A group of top AI researchers has issued a new warning about the existential threat they believe poses to humanity.
Artificial Intelligence can become a threat in future
Writing a 22-word letter, the team said: "Societal enemies such as AI investigations to reduce the risk of extinction, pandemics and nuclear war must have a global assessment, among other dangers."
The team aims to ensure wide adoption of the letter as soon as it can hold it. ChatGPT on one hand has come into our lives really strictly and started to change everything. It has been becoming smarter every day. Some people think the AI tools can help human kind to enhance their understanding and abilities while others believe it is basically a threat.
The letter, which was published under the leadership of the Center for Artificial Intelligence Security, a non-profit organization in San Francisco, USA, also included the signatures of senior employees of famous companies. Among the signatories are Demis Hassabis, CEO of DeepMind, a subsidiary of Google, and Sam Altman, CEO of OpenAI, the creator of ChatGPT. We have seen some news regarding ChatGPT trying to hack a computer and escape before which creates concerns at itself. In other cases people started to question if they can use AI to hack other websites which is again a security problem.
