Microsoft's Surface Duo and Surface Duo 2 products were a bit disappointment for the company. In that sense Microsoft took a completely different approach with their new device, accepting the foldables' importance in the market. According to a new report from "sources who are familiar with the company's plans," Microsoft is now prepared to alter its strategy.

The Surface Duo 3 will have a flat outer screen and a foldable inner screen just like Honor Magic Vs and the vivo X Fold.  At first, Microsoft wanted the dual-screen Surface Duo 3 to come out at the end of this year with wireless charging, narrower and taller edge-to-edge displays, and other unnamed improvements. The company planned to ship Surface Duo 3 by the end of the year but the plans got delayed a bit.

The sources of today's information claim that the rumored 360-degree hinge for the Surface Duo 3 is incorrect and will instead be a 180-degree hinge. The majority of other foldable phones feature that. For simplicity's sake, we've referred to it as the Surface Duo 3, but Microsoft may choose to call it something else if it wants to be more obvious that it has a foldable screen.
