OPPO has decided to stop its chip development business. Chip market has been suffering for a long time now, especially after global crisis and everything that has happened companies suffered a lot. Due to "uncertainty in the global economy and the smartphone industry," Oppo confirmed that its chip subsidiary Zeku, based in Shanghai, will cease operations.

The MariSilicon series of chips, which included the MariSilicon X ISP and MariSilicon Y audio chip, were developed by the chip design company. Oppo laid out its chip-production business back in 2019 and created in-house co-processors, ISPs, modems, power the board and sound chips. Oppo invested more than $1.4 billion in its chipset development business on the basis of speculation.

Chip crisis is an ongoing problem in our modern world. The experts think the problem will end by 2026. Big companies such as Apple and Samsung have rolled up their sleeves to fight the ongoing chip problem yet the efforts are not enough.
