John Wick has fans all over the world and it is one of the most loved action series. Considering how much the 4th movie was loved, producers decided to shoot the 5th one. The Lionsgate film studio has put an end to the debate over whether the John Wick franchise will continue. Lionsgate Cinema Group President Joe Drake said at his meeting with investors on Thursday that work for John Wick 5 has begun.
John Wick 5 is on the way
Saying "We are building a world" about the John Wick universe, Drake stated that apart from the 5th movie, the preparations for the spin-off Ballerina and the series The Continental continue. The Lionsgate executive also announced that a video game set in the John Wick universe is being developed.
Having John Wick's (Keanu Reeves) funeral at the end of John Wick 4 (John Wick: Chapter 4) makes a sequel difficult. The director of the series, Chad Stahelski, also stated in the podcast that he attended on March 31 that his doors are open to the new film:
It is very flattering for the audience to come and say 'We want more'. This has nothing to do with making money. It's natural for the audience to want more. I think we all need some time to say, 'Wow, let's see what's next.
