Wolverine launch will possibly take place in 2024.

Jeff Grubb, an insider, has reported that the release of Marvel's Wolverine game is planned for the fall of 2024, one year after the release of Spider-Man 2. However, the developers at Insomniac are reportedly considering a release date in 2025. The game is reportedly being targeted for an R-rating and will not have any connections to the Fox X-Men movies.

Wolverine could launch as a semi-open world

Grubb has stated that Insomniac is avoiding ties to the Fox X-Men movies by using a version of Wolverine before he joined the X-Men team. This means that players will experience a solo adventure with Wolverine and it is not yet clear if this will change during the game.

Regarding the appearance of the game, Grubb indicated that it will have a different structure compared to Spider-Man, featuring multiple open sections instead of being entirely open-world. These details were shared during a Game Mess Mornings session on the website GiantBomb.com

It's still a long way off, whether Wolverine releases in the fall of 2024, as planned, or in 2025, as Insomniac is reportedly discussing internally. In the interim, we can look forward to this year's Spider-Man 2, in which Peter Parker and Miles Morales face off against Kraven and Venom, two of the wallcrawler's most well-known and vicious foes.
