To give some perspective, Apple's product lineup presently includes two generations of the Apple Pencil. The second-gen model, launched in 2018, doesn't feature a magnetic tip, though replacement tips are available. This version magnetically attaches to specific Apple devices, including the 2018 and newer iPad Pro models, 2020 and subsequent iPad Air models, and the most recent iPad mini. In terms of pricing, it retails at $129 in the U.S.
