Nokia seems to be recalibrating its strategy, moving away from the mid-range and high-end smartphone sectors, and concentrating more on affordable and feature phones. While the market still has a fair number of Nokia mid-range smartphones, a recent announcement from Nokia India has piqued interest.

They teased a 5G phone launch set for September 6, 2023. A promotional video accompanying the teaser invites users to "experience speed" and subtly highlights the smartphone's rounded corners. Given the lack of leaks about this anticipated Nokia 5G device, it's challenging to pinpoint which model it could be. Yet, some speculate that this could be a successor to the Nokia X30, especially considering the timing coincides with the X30's launch last year.

Apart from this tease, Nokia remains active in refreshing its other offerings. Notably, the company has introduced new color variants for models like the Nokia C12 and 2660 Flip recently.

Reflecting on their last 5G release, the Nokia X30 5G stood out with its features. The device showcased a 6.43-inch AMOLED display with a 90Hz refresh rate and a brightness peak of 700 nits. Ensuring crisp visuals, the HD+ display boasts a resolution of 1080 x 2400 pixels. Performance-wise, it packs a Snapdragon 695 SoC complemented by an Adreno 619 GPU. Consumers had the option of choosing between three storage configurations: 128GB + 6GB RAM, 128GB + 8GB RAM, or the more spacious 256GB + 8 GB RAM. As for photography enthusiasts, the Nokia X30 5G did not disappoint. It came equipped with a dual-rear camera setup, featuring a 50MP primary sensor and a 13MP ultrawide lens. Additionally, a 16MP front-facing camera caters to selfie aficionados and ensures clear video calls.
