In a recent development, Vivo has expanded its smartphone lineup with the introduction of the Vivo X100 series in China. Following this, the brand has announced the global release of the Vivo X100 and X100 Pro models. While specific details regarding pricing and availability remain undisclosed, it is confirmed that Malaysia will be the first market outside China to welcome the X100 series. This was substantiated by the launch date revealed on Vivo Malaysia's website.

Set for release at 3 pm local time on January 3 in Malaysia, the Vivo X100 and X100 Pro mark the series' foray into the global market. This launch is anticipated to be followed closely by releases in India and other Southeast Asian countries.

The Vivo X100 and X100 Pro are expected to cater to diverse consumer needs. The X100 will be available in two variants: 12 GB RAM + 256 GB storage and 16 GB RAM + 512 GB storage. The X100 Pro, on the other hand, will be offered in a single configuration of 16 GB RAM + 512 GB storage. Both models will come in two color choices: Startrail Blue and Asteroid Black.

Interestingly, both models have also appeared in Thailand's NBTC certification, signaling an imminent launch in the Thai market as well.

Rumored specifications for both the Vivo X100 and X100 Pro include a 6.78-inch curved-OLED LTPO display with a 1.5K resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. They are expected to be powered by the Dimensity 9300 chipset and run on Android 14 with OriginOS 4. A 32-megapixel front camera is likely to be a standard feature on both models.

The X100 is rumored to boast a rear camera setup with a 50-megapixel Sony IMX920 VCS main camera, a 50-megapixel Samsung JN1 ultra-wide lens, and a 50-megapixel periscope telephoto lens. It is also expected to house a 5,000mAh battery with 120W charging support.

The X100 Pro, in contrast, may feature a 50-megapixel 1-inch Sony IMX989 VCS main camera, along with a 50-megapixel Samsung JN1 ultra-wide lens and a 64-megapixel OmniVision OV64B periscope telephoto lens. Additionally, it might include a Vivo V3 chip and a 5,400mAh battery with 100W wired and 50W wireless charging capabilities.
