In a letter to employees that was posted yesterday, CEO Andy Jassy stated that Amazon's layoffs that were announced on Wednesday would continue into the beginning of 2023.

He stated that over the past few years, the company had "hired rapidly," but "the economy remains in a challenging spot.""There will be more role reductions as leaders continue to make adjustments," he added, as annual planning now extends into the new year. Jassy mentioned that there would be "reductions in our Stores and PXT [people, experience, and technology] organizations," but she did not specify how many employees would be laid off or when.He went on to say that affected employees will be informed by the company long before any layoffs are made public.
